Alert: I am changing my skin care routine for the first time in 8 years!!! By Rutledge Forney, MD

Dr._Forney_Small2_350_300_c1_c__1 Alert! I am changing my skin care routine for the first time in 8 years!!! I have used a daily moisturizer with SPF 50 and green tea, a popular antioxidant, for years.  But now, as soon as I can get it, I am changing to Superscreen, the new daily protective lotion from Skin Medica. It has lots of antioxidants, UVA /UVB blockers and unique products which block penetration of InfraRed rays.  While it won’t reverse sixty years in the Southern sun, I am excited about what it can do. I want to spread the word…the game has changed and young folks who adopt Superscreen will be glad they did in 20 years!  Years ago, when we realized Retin A helped reverse sun damage, some women began using it. Those who have used it for 20 years look different than their friends do. The ability to halt penetration of InfraRed A into the dermis and subcutaneous structure of our skin will make a difference now and, even more, in 20 years. Superscreen does something that nothing else does today.  Blocking InfraRed A waves will make aging “look different”.  I think that dermal and subdermal tissue should age more slowly and decrease the droop of areas that are exposed to the environment all the time, ie the face, neck, and chest.  Hands may maintain thicker skin.  I don’t think that people realized that using Retin A for 20 years would make people “glow”, but it does.  Anti-InfraRed products will have a positive effect that we cannot predict and I am going to see what I can get from it despite a late start!!! 151813-TDR-Promo-Sell-Sheet_12-1
